

missing the band days
i looked at my last post and it was 7 months ago. 7 months… 7 months of my life just flew by without me even realizing it. ^_^
My world is entirely different now from the last post.
I Love Every Single Moment Of It.
sigh.
Unang araw ko ngayon sa Wildsound Studios QC. Habang unti-unti kaming naglilipat nung mga nakaraang araw, ngayon pa lang talaga tumatatak sa isip ko na hindi na wala na kami sa makati. Magpapakasenti muna ko, mamimiss ko yung office na parang bahay ko na (dahil mas matagal ako sa office). Mamimiss ko yung paglabas mo tapos ang daming jollijeep, malapit lang ang greenbelt, malapit lang ang MCS, malapit sa lahat. :)
Pero kanina habang papunta ko dito sa QC, natutuwa din ako dahil panibagong commute, maraming bagong makikita, maraming bagong makakainan (pagkain talaga eh). ^_^ Syempre, ang pinakamasaya dun, namiss ko yung mga kasamahan ko na nauna na sa QC kesa sakin na asa “abandoned ship” sa Makati. Ngayon na magkakasama na kami para maghayupan na naman, ready na ko buksan ang bagong kabanata sa buhay ko. Ganun naman talaga diba?

These past few weeks, I’ve had my share of sleep deprivation. I toss and turn, counted sheep, counted cats (cute little monsters), imagined green lush fields with beatific horizons -Nope, still can’t sleep. Because of my curiosity of how to treat this little nuisance (and because my face looks like a character from Plants vs. Zombies), I’ve looked up some suggestions from our worldly friend: the world wide web. Thankfully enough, I sleep better now and hurray for that. I wanted to share some stuff I found out.
Go For Food! - What better way to induce sleep? Eat. There are foods that help induce sleep such as milk, peanut better, whole grain cereal and banana by containing the amino acid Trytophan. Trytophan, when converted, releases hormones which slow down the brain and help us feel relaxed. Do not eat foods that make you stay awake or stimulants such as coffee, chocolate and your favorite spicy food.
Smell that sleep - Aromatherapy is one way to help you feel relaxed. Stress is an enemy of sleep so make sure that you feel relaxed before going to bed. There are numerous scents for you to choose from. If you are allergic to scents, try taking a warm bath and slip on something smooth like a cotton fabric.
Check your lifestyle - If you are always tired from working, eat lots of carbohydrates, do not exercise, then fatigue will creep up your body and sleeping problems will be knocking on your door. Workaholic? Try to lighten up a bit. It doesn’t hurt to go home early once in a while. Exchange that burger to a pita wrap? Try to look for alternatives in exchange for fast food. Eating bananas or apples could help in your digestive system not to mention a natural source of vitamins. Couch Potato? A simple exercise such as walking up and down the stairs instead of using the elevator, swimming a few laps over the weekend or just do a dance move for about 15 to 30 minutes could help your heart pump blood faster and burn those extra calories off. However, do not exercise 3 to 4 hours before sleeping.
These are just a few things that could help promote sleep. There are lots of stuff that could help but if you think you need to ask medical attention, then by all means do so. Remember that it wouldn’t hurt for us to slow down and check to see if our health can make it to another decade or so of this fast-paced life.
